il Save Roşia Montană Movement della Romania sta organizzando una nuova edizione del FânFest Festival (HayFest – www.fanfest.ro) il 15-18 agosto 2013.
Roşia Montană è un luogo con una storia di resistenza iniziata nel 2000, contro lo sviluppo del più grande progetto di sfruttamento minerario in Europa, proposto da Gabriel Resources, http://gabrielresources.com/site/index.aspx una società con sede in Canada.
FânFest è un DIY festival di protesta,nato nel 2004 dalla necessità di creare solidarietà per difendere Roşia Montană. FânFest rappresenta uno sforzo comune tra i contadini di Rosia Montana e gli attivisti di tutta la Romania.
Il Social Forum degli attivisti è la parte più importante del programma del FânFest, farà incontrare gruppi, campagne e lotte di tutta l’Europa.
Considerato che parteciperemo Stuttgart al Forum 2013 contro le Grandi Opere Inutili e Imposte e considerato che diventa sempre più evidente che stiamo combattendo, la stessa battaglia, pensiamo che la vostra presenza al Forum sia necessaria, per scambiare esperienze ed imparare gli uni dagli altri.
Inoltre, Roşia Montană si trova in un momento critico, il Governo rumeno ha dichiarato chiaramente che in autunno darà tutti i permessi necessari alla compagnia affinché si inizino i lavori.
Questo Forum, il festival e la campagna sono parte del nostro sforzo di portare avanti una lotta non violenta contro un progetto illegale, nel corso di questi anni.
Tra i protagonisti più importanti di questa battaglia c’è la comunità locale, gente che non lascerà le proprie case e la propria terra.
Abbiamo bisogno di una solidarietà internazionale e che l’Europa riconosca il problema Roşia Montană. La gente di Roşia Montană ha bisogno del vostro aiuto per vincere questa lotta in modo nonviolento.

Rosia Montanã, Romania. The Save Rosia Montana Movement from Romania is organizing a new edition of the FânFest Festival (HayFest – www.fanfest.ro) in Rosia Montanã, Romania between 15-18 of August, 2013.
Rosia Montanã is a place with a history of resistance, initiated in the year of 2000, against the development of the largest gold mining project in Europe, proposed by Gabriel Resources, a Canadian based company. FânFest is a DIY protest festival, born in 2004 out of the need to build solidarity to defend Rosia Montanã. FânFest represents a joint effort of the local peasants from Rosia Montana together with activists all around Romania.
The most important part of FânFest program is the Activist Social Forum. The Forum will bring together groups, campaigns and struggles all around Europe. Given the fact that we are participating, together, in the Forum Against Unnecessary and Imposed Mega Projects in Stuttgart and given the fact that it’s becoming more and more clear for all of us that we are fighting the same battle, we feel that your presence is needed in our Forum, in order to exchange experiences and to learn from each other.
On top of that, Rosia Montana is in a critical situation now, as the Romanian government clearly stated that it will give, this fall, all the permits necessary for the company to start the mine. This Forum, as the entire festival and the entire campaign, is part of our effort, in all these years, to carry on a non-violent struggle against this illegal project. One of the most important actors in this struggle is the local community. People will not leave their land and their houses. We need international solidarity and we need Europe to acknowledge the case of Rosia Montana. The people of Rosia Montana need your help to win this struggle in a peaceful manner.

for you to come to the Activist Social Forum and contribute with a presentation / workshop / discussion / performance to the program of the Forum. The program is not final, we are working now on confirming participants.

Given the very little resources we have to organize FânFest and the Activist Social Forum in Rosia Montanã, we do not dispose of money for transport. In Rosia Montanã we will be able to host you in our camp and offer you food for the entire staying. Ask us for any information you might need in order to arrange your travel to Rosia Montanã.
